D'Addario EJ39 is the medium 12-52 phosphor bronze set for a 12-string steel-string acoustic: a spare or replacement set for stage, rehearsal or the studio when the guitar needs a full set of twelve. It is the heavier 12-string gauge in D'Addario's original phosphor bronze range, which they first made in 1974. The higher tension is the point of this set: more resistance under a hard strum, and a fuller acoustic tone than a lighter 12-string set.

Wound strings are phosphor bronze over a hexagonal high-carbon steel core. The octave strings on the G, D and A courses are plain steel; the low E octave is wound. The set is uncoated and round wound, and it is made at D'Addario's New York factory. Each set is packed in a corrosion-barrier sleeve.
