D'Addario NB1253 nickel bronze acoustic guitar strings are a 12-53 light gauge set for six-string acoustics, for players after a clear, focused sound from an uncoated string. The wrap is phosphor bronze plated with nickel, and D'Addario states the plating increases corrosion resistance, so the set lasts longer without needing a coating.

The wrap wire is wound over D'Addario's hexagonal NY Steel core, and the set is round wound. D'Addario lists it as suiting all genres, bluegrass and fingerstyle among them, and the light gauge works for both strumming and fingerstyle on most steel-string acoustic guitars. It is an alternative to phosphor bronze sets such as the EJ16 when you want a clearer, more focused voice.
