D'Addario EXL120+ nickel wound electric guitar strings are a 9.5-44 super light plus set: a middle ground between 9s and 10s for players who want a little more tension than a 9-42 set without moving up to 10-46. D'Addario pitches the gauge as balancing tension across guitars of different scale lengths, which is handy when one spare set has to cover several guitars on a rig.

Nickel-plated steel wrap wire is wound on a high-carbon steel Hex-Core for the bright, round wound XL tone, and the set is uncoated. The strings are sealed in a corrosion barrier sleeve, and the back of the pack gives a total set tension of 89.93 lb.
