D'Addario ECB81 Chromes flatwound bass guitar strings are a 45-100 regular light, long scale four-string set, and among the warmest, most mellow bass strings D'Addario makes. The flat stainless steel wrap gives an ultra-smooth feel under the fingers with very little finger noise, and a dark, warm tone that sits well in a mix; the pack suggests them for R&B, jazz and pop.

Chromes are made by winding a flattened stainless steel ribbon wrap onto interlocking under-windings over a high-carbon steel Hex-Core, then polishing the finished string. The set is uncoated, sealed in a corrosion barrier sleeve and packed in a recyclable VCI bag carrying a D'Addario Players Circle code. Made in D'Addario's New York facility.
