The Duratool 40W Soldering Iron with Rubber Lead is a 240V mains iron for general soldering: joining wires, repairing electronic components, and circuit board and hobby work. For a backline tech or production workshop it covers cable repairs and small electronics jobs at the bench.

The flexible rubber lead gives freedom of movement while you work. The iron has a yellow grip section ahead of a black handle and a pointed tip.

Safe use (from Duratool's instructions)

  • Use the iron on a stable, non-combustible surface in a well-ventilated area.
  • Do not leave it unattended while it is plugged in; switch off and unplug it when not in use.
  • Only change the tip when the iron is switched off, unplugged and cool.
  • Some smoke during the first use, for about 10 minutes, is normal.
