The Pulse PLS00072 microphone thread adaptor is a small screw-on adaptor with a 3/8" female inner thread and a 5/8" male outer thread. It converts between 3/8" and 5/8", the two most common microphone thread sizes, so mic clips, boom arms and stands with different threads can be fitted together.

A typical job: screw the adaptor into a mic clip or holder that has a 5/8" female thread, and the clip will then fit a stand or boom with a 3/8" male thread. That comes up in live, studio and broadcast setups whenever mics, clips and stands come from different makers. Adaptors this small are easy to lose, so it is worth keeping a few in the mic kit or stand bag.
