The Evans EMAD Clear 24" bass drum head (BD24EMAD) is a single-ply, 10mil clear batter fitted with Evans' Externally Mounted Adjustable Damping system. The damping sits on the outside of the head: foam EMAD rings set the kick's attack, focus and sustain, and you can change rings without taking the head off.

Two interchangeable rings of different widths come with the head, so the same 24" kick can run with no ring, the narrow ring or the wide ring, depending on how controlled it needs to be for the room. Evans describes the sound as a nicely balanced attack, short sustain and moderately dark tone, blending power, punch and low end, and lists rock and gospel as ideal styles.

Level 360 Technology extends the level playing surface right round the collar, for even contact with the bearing edge, easier tuning and an extended pitch range.
