The Neutrik NA2MP joins a 3-pole male XLR and a mono 1/4-inch (6.35mm) jack plug in one pre-wired diecast body. Push the jack into a 1/4-inch output socket, such as a keyboard or instrument output, and the male XLR end takes a standard female XLR cable onward to a stage box or mixer.

It is wired to IEC 268-12, with pin 2 as signal and pins 1 and 3 both tied to ground, and the jack uses tip and sleeve contacts. The result is an unbalanced connection, so keep runs short. Neutrik builds it in a rugged zinc diecast shell based on its X Series, the same compact form as a standard XLR.
