The Neutrik NA2FP is a pre-wired adaptor from a 3-pole female XLR to a mono 1/4-inch (6.35mm) jack plug. It lets a male XLR, such as the end of a mic cable or an XLR output, plug straight into a 1/4-inch jack input without an adaptor lead.

Wiring follows IEC 268-12: pin 2 carries the signal and pins 1 and 3 are both connected to ground, with the jack using tip and sleeve contacts. That makes the connection unbalanced, so it suits short runs into unbalanced inputs such as instrument amps and pedals. The female XLR latches onto the mating connector, and the compact diecast shell is based on Neutrik's X Series.
