Pro-Gaff® purple gaffer tape is a 48mm x 22.8m roll of matt cloth tape for colour coding. Give a department, band, room or truck its own colour and its cases, cables and stage positions can be picked out at a glance. It still does all the usual gaffer jobs, from securing cable runs to marking out positions and quick fixes during a production.

Pro Tapes makes Pro-Gaff in the USA from cotton cloth with a synthetic rubber adhesive and no PVC. It tears by hand across both the length and the width, conforms to irregular surfaces and takes pens and markers for labels. The low-gloss matt finish suits work around cameras, lighting rigs and stage equipment. Le Mark describes the adhesive as residue-resistant when removed correctly from suitable surfaces, and recommends a test first because results vary with the surface and how long it stays down.
