The Evans UV2 8" drum head (B08UV2) is a coated, two-ply tom batter for 8" rack toms. Two plies of 7mil film carry Evans' patented UV-cured coating, which Evans says gives superior impact resistance and keeps the head's tonal integrity for its whole life.

Evans rates UV2 as prominent in attack, with shorter sustain, medium brightness and highly enhanced durability, and lists rock and metal as ideal styles. On an 8" tom that's a short, punchy note with plenty of attack, and a coating Evans says resists premature chipping and flaking. For a coated single ply with longer sustain, see the Evans UV1 8".

The Level 360 collar sits evenly on the bearing edge and keeps the playing surface level right round the head, which Evans says makes tuning easier and widens the pitch range.
