Fast-blow (quick-acting) 5 x 20mm glass cartridge fuses, sold by current rating from 500mA to 10A. A few of these in the tool case or fly pack turn a blown equipment fuse into a two-minute fix at the venue.

Check what the equipment calls for before fitting one. The size, current rating and type (fast-blow or time-delay) are printed by the fuse holder, on the rear panel or in the manual, and the replacement should match all three exactly. If a new fuse blows straight away, the unit has a fault that needs looking at; do not fit a higher rating.
