This XLR to 3.5mm cable splits a 3.5mm stereo jack into two male XLRs, so you can plug a phone, laptop or tablet into two inputs on a mixing console, PA system or audio interface. At 1.5m it reaches from a music source beside the desk to the console's inputs.

The usual jobs are walk-in and interval music at FOH, and playing reference tracks during system testing and line checks. Left and right arrive on separate XLRs, identified by red and blue rings as pictured, so you can run them into two channels panned left and right or into a stereo input.

A phone or laptop headphone output is unbalanced, so treat this as a short-run lead: keep the source close to the console, and set the device volume before bringing up the faders.
