A variable voltage power supply for small DC-powered devices: this regulated, switch-mode plug-in unit (model P003C) gives seven selectable outputs from 3V to 12V DC at up to 1000mA, with a UK mains plug and interchangeable DC adaptor plugs to suit the socket on the kit you are powering.

It is a useful spare for the workshop drawer or production office when a unit turns up without its own adaptor. Set the voltage on the selector dial, choose the polarity, fit the matching tip and the LED confirms the output is live. Before connecting anything, match the voltage, polarity and plug size to the device's own rating and check it draws no more than 1000mA.
