The Tenma 72-9966 universal cable tester gives quick, convenient continuity testing for the leads a touring or venue kit depends on: XLR, jack, Speakon, phono, DIN, RJ45 and USB. LEDs confirm each conductor's continuity and connection, and a 9-way switch selects the connections to be tested.

Plug each end of a lead into the matching sockets and step through the switch: an illuminated pair of LEDs shows which pins are connected, so a broken or miswired conductor shows up before the lead goes on stage. Internal checks show battery and ground connection status, and the banana sockets work as a continuity tester with beeper and LED. It runs from a single 9V battery and, at 185 x 88 x 38mm, fits in a tech's tool case or a stage box.
