The Dunlop Straplok Dual Design is a strap lock system that clips your strap onto the instrument and only lets go when you press the release button. The nickel version is Dunlop part SLS1031N, and this listing is available in Silver (nickel) or Gold.

What makes it Dual Design is the wide-flanged strap button: if you need to use a strap without Straplok hardware – a spare from the fly pack, say – it slips over the button like a normal strap button. With the Straplok lock fitted to the strap, the release mechanism clicks into place in the button and stays there until the button on top is pressed.

Fitting means swapping your existing strap buttons for the Straplok buttons and supplied screws. If you are not comfortable doing that, have a guitar tech or luthier fit them.

How it fits

  • Straplok buttons and mounting screws replace the instrument's existing strap buttons
  • The strap sits between the bell cover and the large washer around the release mechanism
  • The supplied E-type circlip fits underneath the large washer to hold it all together
  • Press the button to release the strap from the strap button
