The Dunlop Gator Grip 0.71mm is a purple pick in Dunlop's classic standard shape, printed in white with the gator logo, Dunlop USA and .71mm. It is the second-lightest gauge in the Gator Grip range, which runs from .58mm to 2.0mm.

The matte surface gives a tight, non-slip grip, and the moulded, bevelled edge gives a smooth attack and a soft release from the string. Dunlop describes the result as control and a dark, beefy sound. If you strum chords and pick single notes with the same pick, a mid-light gauge like 0.71mm is a sensible place to start; the Gator Grip also comes in .96mm and 1.14mm if you want a stiffer feel.
