The LP Claw Microphone Clamp (LP592A-X), listed by LP as the Claw with Mic Mount, clamps to a drum rim and holds the microphone on a rigid 3/8in Z-Rod. LP designed the Z-Rod for mounting large or heavy mics on snares, toms, timbales and congas, where you want the mic fixed to the drum rather than on a separate stand.

A spring-loaded jaw grips the hoop, and LP's ratcheting system lets the mount rotate freely while keeping the mic solidly placed once set. The rubber-lined mount isolates the mic from vibration and crosstalk. Because the rod is Z-shaped, you can bring the mic in close to the head or extend it further out. The compact clamp also fits amplifiers when stand space on stage is short.
