Sized for 8" rack toms, the Evans G1 Clear 8" drum head (TT08G1) is a single ply of 10mil clear film with the open, bright voice of the G1 range. Evans lists this head for both the batter and the resonant side of the tom, so one spare covers a split top head or a tired bottom head on an 8".

G1 blends bright tone, sustain and sensitivity. Evans rates it as very balanced in attack, with long sustain, a bright tone and average durability, plus a wide tuning range, and lists pop, gospel and jazz as ideal styles. For a two-ply head in the same size, see the Evans G2 Clear 8".

The Level 360 collar keeps the playing surface level all the way round and seats the head evenly on the bearing edge, which Evans says makes tuning easier and extends the pitch range.
